Stuart Angus: Director of Sales and Marketing
Having worked with highly capitalised engineering/construction firms in North America like Vismand and Earth Tech Canada, Stuart was an easy choice for CEO at Quantec Geoscience Ltd in 2002. He led Quantec through the commercialisation of the Titan 24 technology and has been a driving force of focus for Quantec’s many achievements. With 22 years as President/CEO of professional firms throughout North America, Stuart continues to be an outstanding leader for Quantec. He has an Honours Bachelor Degree of Applied Science (University of Toronto).
Kevin Blackshaw: Vice President Operations, Northern Hemisphere
For over 18 years, Kevin has been running geophysical surveys throughout Canada, United States, Mexico, and Ecuador for Quantec. As VP Operations in the Northern Hemisphere Kevin offers Quantec clients nearly 30 years of experience in ground geophysics. As well as being Project Manager of North American Titan 24 surveys, Kevin also oversees worldwide projects. He has a Diploma in Geological Engineering from Sudbury, Ontario’s Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology.
Carey Chow: CFO
Carey has been a Chartered Accountant, registered with Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, since 2004. In his extensive experience providing financial reporting with private and public companies, he has also been a Consultant with Protiviti Inc and a Senior Auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Audit and Assurance Group. He has worked with clients ranging from small not-for-profit to large multinational financial service institutions. In his role with Quantec, he has navigated international tax law, led corporate training, managed audits and implemented a new accounting system. Carey has a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
Kevin Killin: Vice President, Geophysical Interpretation Group
Principal Geophysicist at Quantec, Kevin has nearly 30 years’ experience including published and proprietary QA/QC programs. Kevin’s interpretations skills for VMS, Porphyry Copper, Kimberlite and precious metals are elite in his field. He has run Titan 24 (DCIP & MT) surveys along the Canadian Shield and in Africa. He brings his knowledge of acquisition, geophysical processing, modelling, quality control and interpretation (including technical knowledge of airborne surveys) as well as many proprietary techniques to every Quantec job.
Jon Powell: Vice President, Global Operations
A Quantec leader since 1992, Jon has been Operations Manager, General Manager and is now VP of Global Operations. Jon is an asset to clients’ global projects given his knowledge of customs, logistics, supply chain and local labour laws. Fluent in Spanish and English, Jon coordinates Quantec’s various country leaders in the Southern Hemisphere (Chile, Argentina, Peru and Australia). Jon is a senior geophysicist.
Roger Sharpe: Vice President, Research & Development
A senior geophysicist for Quantec, Roger has over 25 years’ experience leading teams like the Battle Mountain Gold Company and Multi-Phase Technologies. At Quantec, Roger is responsible for reporting, interpretation and client support as well as program planning, management, and data interpretation skills. His experience in hardware and software manufacture and development has given him thorough knowledge of geophysical data collection, QC processes, and logistical operations. He manages the proprietary hardware and software development and repair, maintenance for Orion 3D, Titan 24 and Spartan MT systems and leads interpretation training. His work has been published in multiple geophysicist journals. Roger’s Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Geology and Geophysics is from Queen’s University.
Ron Vermey: President and CEO
CEO since 2005, Ron offers 25 years of management and technical experience to Quantec. Ron’s operational leadership has focussed on increasing client satisfaction and results show the company’s yearly growth as more than 15%. Maximising profitability of client projects by improving operational processes and developing industry-leading technology like Orion 3D (the only geophysical survey with True 3D high resolution capability) Ron has built upon Quantec’s international reputation. Ron graduated from the University of Western, Ontario with a B.E.Sc.
