
Ron Vermey: President and CEO
With over 22 years of experience, Ron brings proven operational and leadership credentials in the technical professional services field. This was accomplished through leadership shown by management, interpersonal skills, implementing result oriented plans, and motivating teams committed to the success of the organization. Ron has a B.E. Sc from the University of Western, Ontario.
Carey Chow: CFO
Carey has extensive experience in financial reporting with private and public Companies. Carey’s previous experience includes being a Consultant with Protiviti Inc and Senior Auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the audit and assurance group. Carey’s career has provided him with exposure to clients ranging from small not-for-profit to large multinational financial services institutions. Carey holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. He is a Chartered Accountant and registered with Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
Greg Hollyer- Manager, Sales and Marketing
Prior to joining Quantec, Greg was employed with BHP-Utah as a special projects geophysicist from 1987 to 1991, following which he started a career in technical and scientific writing. In 1995, he joined Geosoft as a professional Technical Writer and in 1998, he was appointed to the position of Vice-President of Marketing, where he assembled and ran that company’s first coordinated Marketing Group.
In 2001, Greg was appointed Director of Marketing at GEM Advanced Magnetometers, leading to a re-branding of the company and its product line; new business development in China and India; and a profitable web-based lead development system – all of which contributed to record sales revenues during his employment.
Greg joined Quantec in 1986 in a sales capacity and now leads the Sales and Marketing team. He works closely with Quantec’s clients and sales team to help maximize the value offered through the company’s Titan 24, Spartan MT and Ground Geophysics technologies and service offerings.
Greg received B.Sc.(Eng) and M.Sc.(Eng) honours Degrees in geophysical engineering from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.
Kevin Killin: Manager, Titan Interpretation Group
Kevin has specialized knowledge of Titan 24(DCIP & MT) interpretation geared towards VMS, Porphyry Copper and precious metals, making him a key member of Quantec’s Interpretation group. His Titan 24 experience encompasses various environments, including the Canadian Shield, Africa, Bathurst, Red Lake, Sudbury, and Matagami camps.
Acquisition, processing, quality control and interpretation of magnetic and conventional IP data for Kimberlite and precious metal exploration also top Kevin’s list of skill sets. In addition, he also has specialized technical knowledge of airborne survey techniques.
Kevin’s previous experience awarded him excellent knowledge of geophysical processing, modeling and interpretation packages, including many proprietary packages and techniques. Kevin is truly a leader in industry and at Quantec.
Kevin Blackshaw- Operations Manager, Northern Hemisphere
Kevin has been with Quantec for over 11 years. In that time he has executed surveys extensively throughout Canada, United States, Mexico, and Ecuador. In his current position with Quantec, Kevin plays an integral role as Project Manager of the Titan 24 MT & DCIP Distributed Array system in Canada and oversees surveys that are conducted worldwide. Prior to this, he has also spent time as an operations manager and a senior field manager.
Kevin has a Diploma in Geological Engineering from Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology, Sudbury, Ontario.
Jon Powell: Manager, South American and Australia Operations
Jon has been with Quantec since 1992 working as an Operations manager, General Manager and now overseeing all Southern Hemisphere operations – including Chile, Argentina, Peru and Australia. Jon has proven field experience and the ability to manage staff. Jon is fluent in Spanish and English.
Ken Nurse: Manager of Research and Development
Ken is a geophysicist, working with ground electrical methods for over 20 years. His experience is vertically integrated covering most arenas of the geophysical services’ industry: field acquisition, system design, interpretation and client management.
Ken has over 20 years experience working in Geophysics and Exploration. Ken has been with the Research and Development team through the Titan 24 development and is currently leading the development of the next generation of Titan, in the Titan 3-D system. Ken has the unique ability to fully understand the systems from a Field manager, Geophysical Interpreter, Software, Hardware and Business perspective. His previous experience includes Project manager, Geophysicist and Programmer at Crone Geophysics and Extec Development. Ken has a MSc in Physics from the University of Toronto and a HBSc in Geophysics from the University of Western Ontario.
