Exploration Solutions

Quantec Geoscience is pleased to offer organizations a variety of exploration solutions to applications in mineral exploration, geothermal exploration, and oil and gas exploration based on our primary technologies – Titan 24 Deep Earth Imaging, Quantec Ground Geophysics, and Spartan Deep Resistivity Imaging. With numerous projects completed, our definition of success is geared to our customer’s objectives – helping with discovery through the application of advanced, proprietary technologies and methods.

Mineral Exploration – Grassroots Exploration with Titan 24

Titan 24 is an advanced ground geophysical technology for acquiring high-resolution Induced Polarization (IP), Resistivity and Magnetotelluric (MT) results to depths that are unachievable with conventional geophysics or airborne geophysics. The Titan 24 MT& DCIP system images to 700 m with IP and Resistivity and Quantec cuts its MT results off at a limit of 1.5 km to acquire deep information to depths that make economic sense from a mineral exploration perspective. Titan 24 is ideal for property-scale work, following up airborne anomalies, or detailing near postulated mineral occurrences.

Through careful processing, inversion and interpretation of results, information can be obtained on conductive mineralization, disseminated mineralization, alteration, structure and geology based on the three parameters acquired in Titan 24 and the interpretive experience of Quantec’s professionals. As part of our service offering, Quantec’s professionals provide a variety of integrated consulting services intended to optimize survey design, implementation, and costing to each client’s unique needs.

The technology has been proven to assist in accurate and cost-effective drill targeting for a variety of economic mineral deposits, including gold, copper and copper porphyry, nickel sulphide, platinum group elements, diamonds, and more. Case histories can be found on this web site or by emailing us at info@QuantecGeoscience.com. The system has been used in environments ranging from the high Arctic in Finland to the jungles of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the high Andes of Chile. A number of discoveries have been derived through application of Titan 24 and they are documented through news releases and case histories on this web site.

Mineral Exploration – Brownfield Exploration with Titan 24

Exploration in the mining industry today is focusing on mine site and near mine exploration with recent statistics indicating that brownfield exploration is a key driver in mineral exploration. Discovering new ore zones and extending existing ones “in the shadow of a headframe” is not only highly prospective geologically, it is also fundamentally more economical to find ore near existing mining infrastructure.

Quantec Geoscience has used Titan 24 at a growing number of mines for brownfield exploration applications. Results show that Titan 24 that can effectively discover new ore zones and delineate extensions of existing ore zones in a variety of environments.  A Titan 24 survey can be conducted directly over and around the mine site, compiled with existing drilling information, and ultimately used to target drilling at targets with high potential for discovery.

Quantec is developing a growing reputation as “Brownfield Exploration Experts” for the ability of the company’s professionals to acquire high quality data safely and efficiently in a mine or near mine environment. There are a number of challenges in data acquisition such as scheduling, operations, cultural noise, etc. that Quantec has been able to overcome through development of proprietary data acquisition methods, geophysical processing techniques, and advanced inversion / interpretation procedures. The result is a comprehensive service offering tailored to the operating conditions at each mine.

Case histories show the application of the technology to find ore 350 m from existing mine infrastructure at a project in Africa for African Copper as well as the use of Titan 24 to find new ore in an existing mine in British Columbia – a development that resulted in the drilling of the richest intercept in the camp as well as deep extensions to orebodies that will keep the mine operating many years into the future. Case histories can be found on this web site or by emailing us at info@QuantecGeoscience.com.
